RED VELVET PARTY 2011!
Tropic of Cancer welcomes you to the official website for Red Velvet Party 2011!
Following the inspiration given by our president, Barack Obama, we wanted to provide the opportunity for everyone to give back to the community and PAY IT FORWARD to those in need. By coming up with the idea to celebrate life in a way that is entertaining, we have changed the way we party forever. Rather than party for party's sake, we invite everyone to PARTY WITH PURPOSE at Red Velvet Party 2011! The hottest party of the summer will take place Saturday, July 16 at 9:00 p.m. at a location to be announced in the Los Angeles area. The entire weekend (July 15-17) will be filled with events. See side panel for details.
Our purpose is to raise money for charity, and once again this year, Camp Laurel of Pasadena, Calif., was chosen as our benefactor. Camp Laurel empowers the lives of children affected by or living with HIV/AIDS, and holds several camps throughout the year to help these children live normal, everyday lives, just like other children do. They help children from all over the state of California, and even fly a few, select children down from Northern California to attend camp. In 2010, they also began taking in children from the Las Vegas area to go to camp! The price isn't cheap, and with air fare involved, the cost can add up very fast.
We are honored to have Camp Laurel aboard this year, and we hope that you will attend our event in support of our cause. These children are counting on you to help, so why not come and party all night with us, and feel great about doing a great thing for these kids!
